School Experience/Credentials…Associates in Science at Manor College
The most rewarding thing she finds about her veterinary career is…not only getting to work with dogs and cats all day, but to have such a close relationship with the “moms and dads” of the patients we treat. For Sami, working with patients that have been diagnosed with cancer is heartbreaking at times, but every purr, tail wag and wet kiss makes her truly believe that she is meant to be a part of their cancer fighting journey and to help them in any way she can.
Many people may not know…that she is a volunteer scuba diver at Adventure Aquarium, and has been since 2010. She is the active President of Pawsitively Caring, a non-profit fund to help provide financial assistance to families in crisis when their pet needs emergency care. She was a finalist for Pet Plan’s 2015 Veterinary Technician of the Year. She also loves teaching, that is why she really enjoys mentoring the veterinary technician students that come to CARES as part of the externship program.
People often refer to her as…Sami or Sam.
When she isn’t at CARES, you can find her…at the Adventure Aquarium volunteering or at a Community Outreach program for CARES. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Her human and furry family consists of…her daughter Olivia, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Harlee, a French Bulldog, Cosette, and her cat Flynn Rider.
