Dr. Low is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery, followed by a three-year residency at CARES and came on board as a full-time member of the ophthalmology staff in 2013. Dr. Low has been a member of the CARES team since 2009. She treats a wide range of ophthalmic diseases, utilizing the most advanced technology, including laser surgery. Dr. Low is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. She says the most rewarding part of her job is being able to restore vision in pets that were blind, adding, “this usually happens after cataract surgery but can happen with other ocular diseases as well. It’s an amazing feeling to see a previously scared or nervous, blind dog leave after cataract surgery bouncing around and so happy to see their owners.” Dr. Low enjoys visiting her family in Connecticut and NYC. She lives with her husband, best canine bud, Riley, and her cat, Pebbles. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and horseback riding (with Riley of course!), cooking, yoga and gardening.
