Originally from Ohio (Go Buckeyes!), Dr. Zatroch obtained her veterinary degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She then moved to western Canada to complete a small animal rotating internship at The Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Centre, where she then stayed on working as an emergency clinician prior to starting her anesthesia residency. Dr. Zatroch completed her residency training program at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals. There, she gained valuable clinical experience and completed research in the realm of pharmacologic influences on hemodynamics, for which she received the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia Resident Abstract Award.
Dr. Zatroch joined the CARES family as staff anesthesiologist in 2019. Her primary goal for each of her patients is to keep them safe and comfortable, with particular focus on advanced monitoring techniques, locoregional anesthesia and individualized pain management planning. Dr. Zatroch is not only committed to providing the best possible experience for her patients, but also for pet owners. She enjoys working closely with her patients’ families and answering the questions they may have about veterinary anesthesia. Dr. Zatroch is also passionate about teaming up with colleagues in the veterinary community to provide continuing education opportunities and enhance patient care. In her spare time, she likes staying active, trail running, cooking, spending time with friends, and keeping up with her large family!
