What I find most rewarding about my veterinary career is that I love to see people and their pets, and how they interact. I love it when the pet goes home with their family, and they get their best friend back healthy.
My most memorable veterinary moment is when I was in my first days as a vet assistant, a family came in with a “parvo puppy”. We had to explain how deadly parvo was; we had to let them know he might not make it. In two days that puppy shocked us all and went home. We all cried that day.
Most people may not know this about me but I used to study opera and sang opera in college.
I’m really great at translating “vet speak” into lay terms.
When I’m not at CARES you can find me reading, playing video games, and hiking!
I have no furry, feathery, scaly, or prickly pets at the moment, but my partner Dave and I will get one soon! All of my kids have fur.
