If you feel that your pet has a non-emergency neurologic problem, notify your primary care veterinarian, who can determine whether a consultation with our veterinary neurologist is appropriate. We have the ability to perform numerous neurologic tests and procedures. We’ll talk with you about your pet’s history, and perform a full neurologic examination. This will help to localize the problem, and narrow down possible causes. From there, other tests may be performed. These include advanced imaging such as CT and MRI, various blood tests, electrodiagnostic testing of nerves and muscles, spinal tap, and others. Treatment may include neurosurgeries, including disc surgery, biopsies, and brain surgery for various conditions.
